The seventh edition of the European Cyber Security Challenge was held in Vienna mid-September. This is an annual European event that brings together young talent from across Europe to compete and network in cybersecurity. 33 countries were signed up for the competition which was won by Denmark, Germany and France. Norway ended up on an 18th Place. There is a growing need for IT security professionals, and this is widely acknowledged worldwide. ECSC and ENISA aims to help mitigate this shortage by arranging this yearly competition, with a clear aim to find new and young cyber talents and encourage young people to pursue a career in cyber security.
Norway will be host of the 2023 competition. This will be held at Hamar from the 23rd until the 27th of October. Please contact Inge Moen for information on the possibilities of becoming a sponsor for this event. . |

| How Artificial intelligence stop Cyber Grooming |
With the rapid booming of the Internet and digital platforms, according to the FBI Internet Crime Center Report, in 2020 the cybercrime against children increased by 144% compared to 2019, that is 8 children facing online exploitation a day.
Emerging from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Aiba´s solution will prevent cyber grooming towards children by using artificial intelligence, machine learning, and behavioural analysis that detect and predict potentially harmful conversations in real-time and at an early stage.
“We evaluated every single message in a conversation and based on the analysis, we determine the risk if a conversation is grooming,” says the co-founder and Research Lead of Aiba and professor at NTNU, Patrick Bours. |
