NorwAI is preparing for showing the first Norwegian based GPT-model in the NTNU-program at Arendalsuka on August 17th. The model is currently well under way based on a new NTNU dataset providing billions of tokens and parameters.
The annual meeting for Norway's top media leaders, Medieleder 23 in Bergen in mid May, will enjoy a preview of NorwAI's new GPT-model. The presentation will be done by EVP and Chief Data and Technology Officer Sven Størmer Thaulow of the Schibsted Media Group. Schibsted are already heavy users of language models, and expect to increase the use in the future, following closely Nordic and European projects. Størmer Thaulow is also chair of NorwAI.
Great expectations for the next probailistic school
Nordic Probabilistic AI School (ProbAI) has been a popoular event for years. On 12-16 June 2023 it returns to Trondheim after last years visit to Finland.
Just as the interest for AI and language models exploded, researcher Inga Strümke at NTNUs Computer Science Department launched her book on AI. The IDI researcher is among Norways mot popular mediators of AI.
Professor Kristin Y. Pettersen has accepted the invitation to speak at NorwAI Innovate in 2023. She received the NTNU Award for Outstanding Research and Artistic Activities in 2021, and conferences litterally world wide wants her to speak on her innovations.
